What HPC3 is and its purpose
HPC3 is an international programming contest for precollege students held anually at Harvard University in Boston made for the purpose of fostering and developing computational logic, problem-solving aptitude, and practial skill of the strongest young minds in the field of programming.
These exceptional high school students from various countries compete in timed rounds to solve algorithmic and computational problems with a focus on deepening the skills of programming: problem analysis, algorithmic control over data structures, and in-depth targeted testing.
Students compete in a two-week individual competition and have the goal of solving, with maximum accuracy, clarity, and efficiency, several subdivided logical and computational problems in the space of 1 hour each contest day.
The Objectives of HPC3 are to:
foster, challenge, and recognize exceptional young talent in the field;
form international relationships among like-minded peers;
apply the attention of young people to solve current issues;
promote the creation of future competition and learning for students.
